The stadium "Sambodromo" is not working till Dec. 2011. There are consructions for extending. The took away the factory buildings on one side of the stadium last sunday (5th June). The capacity will increase to 77000, also for the Olympics.

I saw this, thanks for the comment. So, the Maracana and the Samba-Stadium are under construction at the moment. Not very interesting for tourists at the moment...
